The Amazon Prime Visa even lets you finance purchases. You can choose to earn points on everything you buy or take advantage of a low introductory interest rate for a set period on qualifying purchases. 

Just remember that after the introductory period ends, a higher interest rate will apply to any remaining balance on those purchases.

Qualifying for the Amazon Prime Visa credit card

This card is designed for Amazon shoppers who want to maximize their rewards. Here’s a breakdown of the eligibility requirements:

• Existing Amazon credit cards: you won’t be eligible for the Prime Visa if you already have an Amazon Visa or another Prime Visa card.
• Amazon Prime membership: this card goes hand-in-hand with Prime benefits. You’ll need an active Prime membership to qualify for the Prime Visa and its enhanced rewards. If you don’t have Prime, you can still apply for the regular Amazon Visa card, but it offers a lower cash back rate.
• Chase’s credit history rule: the Prime Visa is issued by Chase. They have a rule where applicants with five or more new credit cards from any issuer in the past 24 months are typically declined (known as the 5/24 rule).
• Credit score and debt: generally, a credit score of 660 or higher increases your approval odds for the Prime Visa. Your annual income and existing debts will also be factored into the decision.
• Basic eligibility: you must be 18 years or older, have a U.S. mailing address, and a valid Social Security number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).

Applying for the Amazon Prime Visa rewards credit card

Head to Amazon’s website, locate the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Card page, and click “Apply Now”. Existing Amazon members can sign in, while new users need to create an account.

After, provide accurate personal and financial information, including income and employment details. You may receive an instant decision (about 15 seconds) or require further review by Chase Bank (typically within 2-4 weeks).

If approved instantly, you’ll be directed to a page to review the Cardmember Agreement and other important information before using your card.

For applications requiring review, wait at least two weeks before contacting Chase for an update. Remember, neither Amazon nor Chase can expedite the application process.
